Position Summary: Under general supervision The Quality Improvement Technician promotes improvement in patient outcomes by analyzing and managing data based on structured data capture on clinical and organizational decision making. The QI Technician will assist with managing patient populations and creating lists of patients that are lacking clinical measures. The QI Technician will assist in gathering data required by insurance plans, and organizational wide initiatives including but not limited to Government Performance Reporting Act (GPRA) and Grant funded initiatives.

Essential Functions:The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:
- Assist in implementing performance and quality improvement initiatives by providing meaningful reports using graphs and data.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data to identify areas in need of improvement throughout the Agency.
- Provide medical record documents in a timely manner to insurance plans that are requesting proof of meeting HEDIS measures.
- Create queries using various programs to identify patient populations that need additional or overdue medical care and share those lists with appropriate staff. Collect baseline data as the initial step for creating a Plan Do Collect Assess (PDCA) cycle.
- Assist the QI Coordinator in identifying and evaluating opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner.
- Assist with recurring clerical and administrative tasks, such as letters, e-mails etc.
- Participates in educational opportunities related to Quality Improvement and organizational
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide the highest possible level of service to clients;
- Promote teamwork and cooperative effort among employees;
- Maintain safe practices; and
- Abide by current NVIH's policies and procedures.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in Healthcare industry preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, willing to travel for meetings and trainings.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi task.
- Demonstrates team building skills and maintains open and effective working relations interdepartmentally and with outside agencies as needed.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
