Duties
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of preschool programs to ensure they meet high standards of quality, safety, and developmental appropriateness
- Supervise and support preschool staff through coaching, training, and performance management to cultivate a motivated and skilled team
- Oversee daily operations, including enrollment processes, classroom management, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies at all times
- Build strong relationships with families by providing transparent communication, addressing concerns promptly, and fostering a welcoming community atmosphere
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists to develop engaging learning activities that promote social-emotional development, cognitive skills, and creativity
- Monitor program outcomes through data analysis and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service delivery and child outcomes
Skills
- Proven experience managing preschool or early childhood education programs with a focus on quality assurance and compliance
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with staff, families, regulatory bodies, and community partners
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, curriculum design, and best practices in preschool education
- Ability to analyze data for program improvement initiatives and report on key performance indicators
- Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations or organizational needs while maintaining a proactive approach
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, PublicAdministration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in program management or similar early childhood education leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, federal and state regulations, and best practices in early childhood education.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as financial reports, legal
contracts and government regulations and to work with mathematical concepts to make budgetary decisions when strategic planning necessitates.
Ability to respond to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints with confidentiality.
Experience with human resources, budget management and grant administration.
Commitment to fostering professionalism and accountability.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with frequent visits to program sites.
May require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or community events.
