Job Title: Teller
Location: Ashland, WI & Washburn WI branches (multiple)
Reports To: Head Teller/Security Officer
FLSA Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Job Summary:
Accurately service customers’ transactions including withdrawals, deposits, payments, and purchases. Maintain accurate balance in teller window by balancing cash at the beginning and end of the day at any window. Verify totals on various bank products, proof, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Accurately balance cash at work station
- Balance cash in window to start and finish daily work and at balancing time
- Complete deposit and withdrawal transactions for customers
- Verify all cash that customers bring to window
- Count customers’ loose coin in coin counter
- Receive and disburse Canadian money; accurately figuring out discount
- Cash customers’ checks
- Accept customers’ loan payments and payoffs; accurately calculate payoffs as requested
- Balance vault
Performance Expectations: Maintain an accurate cash drawer with limited variations. Respond to customers’ inquiries in a timely and friendly manner. Completely follow through on all transactions and activities. Acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival to lobby or teller window.
· Provide exceptional customer support
- Prepare bank money orders for customers
- Cash savings bonds for customers
- Sell personal money orders/cashier’s checks
- Accept payments for safe deposit boxes
- Cross-sell bank products and services
Performance Expectations: Accurately conduct customers’ transactions. Respond to customers’ inquiries in a timely and friendly manner. Complete transaction thoroughly including accurate recording of any documentation. Follow through on all communications and transactions.
· Maintain accurate records for customers and the bank
- Update savings book
- Verify all night drop bag contents and mail receipt to customers
- Operate teller imager/scanner
- Balance ATM’s
Performance Expectations: Accurately record transactions. File information in appropriate location. Complete bank documents accurately for task. Follow through on all transactions and communications.
· Daily Responsibilities
- Take check orders/process check orders, use printer/stitcher/cutter. Order check supplies, etc. Monthly reports.
- Open bank accounts for customers—business and personal. Open safe deposit boxes/trusts, estate, etc.
- Balance the branches/end of day balancing
- Balance out money orders/cashier’s checks, loan checks, etc.
· Performs other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to:
- Open IRA accounts. Process distributions/deposits, etc.
- Asset verification online program
- Social Security Administration online verification program
- Notary/Medallion stamp
- Order Fed money, ship Fed money
- Authorized signer to issue checks for the Brick Account. Write checks/balance checkbooks. Backup for Customer Service & Accounts Payable.
- Filing and collating
- Answering the phones
- Shredding confidential items
- Light housekeeping/maintenance
- Prepare and deliver daily work to Auto Bank night depository
- Provide occasional teller staffing coverage at other branches, when needed

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
· Experience working as a teller, retail sales, or customer service position preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Note: Never/Seldom = less than 15% of work time
Occasional = 15% - 49% of work time
Frequent = 50% - 74% of work time
Continuous = 75% - 100% of work time
· Frequent periods of walking and standing
· Occasional sitting at a desk
· Seldom movements of lifting, climbing, pushing/pulling of objects, and working in a confined space
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
