Paint Line Tech - HDS

 Job Summary 

• Paint line technician is responsible for paint line set-up, including but not limited to, gun settings, chemical/filter verifications for all stages, mill thickness verifications, all testing to confirm paint conformance, change color module, run data paq through line, and all other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

• Must conduct themselves in a safe manner and meet all safety requirements as prescribed by the company.
• Must be able to work all spots on the line and know quality requirements / procedures.
• Must be able to verify quality requirements of all parts being painted.
• Work with manager to establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Inspects equipment to ensure specific operational performance.
• Resolves operations and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting relating to line downtime.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Assume managerial duties when manager is unavailable.
• Resolve work problems & assist other associates in solving work problems.
• Learn and perform all functions in relation to current QAD/Eagle Inventory system.
• Perform Quality checks correctly and at the proper times required.
• Responsible for reporting all accidents and incidents.
• Will relieve the operators for breaks, lunches, restroom, etc.
• Must be able to learn and perform job functions related to HDS One Stop programs.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience 

• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Forklift license / training required.
• Must be able to use hand tools.

Required Safety Equipment 

• Sleeves
• Gloves
• Safety glasses
• Ear plugs or muffs
• Steel/composite toe shoes

Educational skills required 

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Training required 

Physical Job Requirements – ALL jobs 

• Must be able to sit, reach above shoulders, climb balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts.
• Must be able to stand 10 – 12 hours daily.
• Must have physical dexterity.
