REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently
- Possess basic reading, math, English, science and critical thinking skills
- Appropriate typing/keyboarding accuracy and wpm skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secretarial experience; Medical Secretarial course/experience
- Windows 2000 & beyond and Microsoft applications experience
- One or two-year applicable college degree, Associates degree preferred
Provides routine and acute trauma patient reception (phones/reception window) in the Imaging Center. Minimal to no exposure to blood and/or other body emesis-borne pathogens. Clerical duties at Radiology Desk(s) and work counters using computers and IT systems to order and adjust patient orders in the Meditech Expanse HIS/RIS. Responsible for ensuring computer input is performed and correct for all Imaging procedure services, including medical necessity screening, pre-certifications, etc. Wears Lab coat when on-duty. Assists the Director-Imaging Services and area coordinator as directed. NRH Patient Access/Pre-Services department staff provide outpatient Imaging scheduling functions; Radiology Clerk-Imaging will refer outpatients/office staffs to Pre-Services for scheduling of NRH Imaging procedures and will provide low-level support for that function if/as may be requested. Weekends / Weeknights routinely.
