POSITION SUMMARY
A General Construction Laborer assists with various construction tasks including site preparation, material handling, equipment operation, cleanup, and basic construction duties. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety procedures, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Load and unload construction materials and tools
- Prepare and clean construction sites
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools
- Assist carpenters, equipment operators, and other skilled workers
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth
- Set up and remove temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades
- Assist with tying reinforcing steel
- Assist with concrete form setting and building
- Follow safety regulations and wear protective equipment
- Remove debris and hazardous materials from worksites
- Measure and cut materials as directed
- Perform demolition and basic repair work
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition

- Previous construction experience is a plus but not always required
- Ability to lift heavy materials (50 pounds)
- Strong physical stamina and endurance
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- OSHA certification may be preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, include hard hat, safety (hard toe) shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and coveralls.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb, balance, twist, pull, push, have hand/finger dexterity and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in various weather conditions.
- Vision abilities (with or without correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sensory ability to talk, hear, smell, touch and feel.
- Able to work in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, etc.
- Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects; 25-50 lbs. of force frequently; 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
