Right now, Northern Panhandle Head Start seeks a highly skilled, mission committed, Head Start/Early Head Start leader to be the Executive Director. This is the senior Executive position, and the Board of Directors is seeking a person with management experience who is effective in working with staff, families, constituents, and the community.
The Position
The Executive Director (ED) serves at the will of the Board of Directors and reports directly to the Board. The ED will manage the staff and budget and serve as the key spokesperson for the organization. The ED is directly responsible for the strategic planning process, fiscal accountability, and the grant development process through key management staff. The ED ensures high quality, comprehensive early childhood services for children and families and collaborates with school systems for Universal Pre-K.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of effective administrative experience in upper management of a comprehensive educational child or social services program. A Bachelor's Degree in either Early Education or Business with Head Start expertise is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
A demonstrated record of success in administering Head Start, early childhood education, prevention or Early Intervention, or social services program of comparable size is required. Experience working in a union environment, with skill in negotiations, is a benefit. Candidate must be willing and able to participate in State, Regional, and National trainings and committees.
