Role Description The Behavioral Health Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cleveland, OH, supporting individuals engaged in substance use recovery and behavioral health services. This role includes monitoring and documenting client behaviors, assisting with the implementation of treatment and recovery plans, and providing support during group and individual sessions. The technician helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, reinforces recovery-focused behaviors, and collaborates with clinical and peer support staff to coordinate client care. Daily responsibilities also involve accurate record-keeping, participation in team meetings, and timely communication of client needs or concerns to supervising professionals. The position requires consistent professional boundaries, adherence to agency policies, and commitment to NORA’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis to support the implementation of behavior plans and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Behavioral Intervention and Psychology to understand behavioral health needs and respond with appropriate, evidence-informed strategies.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Relevant experience in behavioral health, substance use recovery, or human services settings is beneficial.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow treatment protocols, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Capacity to work on-site in Cleveland, OH, including potential evening or weekend hours as program needs require.
  • Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to supporting diverse communities in alignment with NORA’s mission and values.
