This is not a call-center sales job — and it’s not a quiet front desk role.
The Inside Sales Manager is the operational heartbeat of our lumberyard. You are the first point of contact for customers, the bridge between sales and yard operations, and a trusted internal partner to leadership. You’ll quote material, manage orders end-to-end, coordinate daily dispatch, and keep the front office running smoothly in a fast-moving yard environment.

- Handle inbound phone calls, emails, and walk-in customers
- Quote lumber and building materials accurately and efficiently
- Source specialty materials and problem-solve supply challenges
- Prepare sales orders, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices
- Collect customer payments and maintain organized sales records
- Partner closely with the VP / Chief Estimator on bids and projects
- Report monthly LBM sales commissions to the Business Manager
- Serve as the primary front-desk presence for the yard and showroom
- Coordinate daily delivery schedules and dispatch routes with our driver
- Communicate order status and delivery updates proactively to customers
- Stage orders and assist with loading trucks when needed
- Step in as backup delivery driver when required
- Assist with light millhouse and production tasks (cutting, fabrication, prep)
- Provide showroom tours and product guidance
- Support yard organization, material handling, and general operations as needed
- Be the first and lasting impression of NOLT
- Handle returns, adjustments, and issues professionally
- Build long-term relationships with contractors, builders, architects, and walk-ins
- 3 years of inside sales experience, ideally in lumber, building materials, or construction
- Strong working knowledge of lumber, dimensions, grades, and applications
- Comfortable in a hands-on, industrial environment
- Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Confident communicator — in person, on the phone, and in writing
- Comfortable juggling sales, dispatch, and front-desk responsibilities
- Able to lift and move material as part of daily operations
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
(Some overtime as needed)
