Summary
This**Clinical Lab Scientist**opportunity is per diem and a convenient flexible schedule. This individual will be r
esponsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory.
Similar to a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including heart attack, stroke, trauma conditions, lacerations, acute pain and other life-threatening conditions. If a patient requires a higher level of care, NNMC partners with local EMS providers to transport patients to an appropriate regional hospital.
Minimum/Preferred Requirements
- Nevada State Licensure as a General Supervisor**required**
- Able to perform blood draws required
- BLS certification
- Ability to function independently in all areas of the clinical laboratory: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and serology/immunology and phlebotomy.
- Responsible for performing high-complexity testing
- Demonstrates knowledge of expected lab values for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient
- Notifies patient caregiver and/or physician of critical lab values
