Essential job functions include preparing the room with the nursing staff for the surgical procedure, in a timely and organized manner; correctly practices the principles of asepsis; cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes all equipment in the OR, and Endoscopic Lab; coordinates care of the patient with the RN Circulator; stocks and replaces CS items, prepares CS inventory sheet; maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures; assists the physician during surgical procedures, and has correct instrumentation organized and available; Follows verbal physician orders in the operating suite; handles surgical specimens; compiles the necessary equipment on the surgical field; timely documents unusual occurrence reports, and other departmental forms as required; performs CPR as needed; correctly and proficiently uses all applicable instruments and equipment; cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization; transports patient to and from the OR; monitors surgical equipment, maintenance and repairs; completes duties as technical scrub in OR; prepares room and equipment for Endoscopy procedures; must maintain a cooperative disposition, within the OR room; other duties as required.QualificationsHigh School Diplomas or equivalent. Current CST Certification required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. One-year perioperative services experience preferred.
