What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cleaner/Janitor position at Northern Michigan Janitorial Services?
Responsibilities:
- Perform industrial cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the facility.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to remove dirt, debris, and dust.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals or operating machinery.
Experience:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Requirements:
- Must have valid Driver's license
- Must be dependable
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
