Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, and organize steel and other materials
- Operate a forklift to load and move material when trained and authorized
- Measure and mark material using a tape measure
- Operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop tools
- Grind, deburr, and clean fabricated parts
- Assist fabricators with preparing material and completing jobs
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Follow shop safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
- Perform other general shop duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Dependable and able to report to work on time
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic tape-measure skills or willingness to learn
- Willing to learn how to safely operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop equipment
- Willing and able to operate a forklift
- Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical shop work throughout the shift
- Able to safely lift and move materials using proper equipment or assistance when needed
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and organization
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
