The Area Sales Manager NL Area Sales Manager will be responsible for growing sales and net margins by managing business among existing accounts and promoting the Company’s product lines to new customers within assigned territory. This position will be based in our headquarters and leverage the relationship with outside reps within the assigned territory to maximize sales, hit sales targets, and provide best-in-class customer service. The position may also have some responsibilities related to Gift Shop and/or Trade Shows (and/or Staff) as assigned.
***This is a Salaried Exempt ($60,406.00 - $62,500.00), Hybrid position located in Wellsville, NY***
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Duties
- Achieve agreed upon sales and net margin targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Conduct daily sales calls virtually, by phone, email, etc. to existing and prospective customers to solicit orders. Ensuring all activity is tracked and managed in CRM software
- Manage all sales related customer interactions (logging interactions, working leads, managing promotional campaigns, closing opportunities, etc.) from within the CRM software.
- Receive, process, and submit customer orders daily
- Present all new product launches to existing and prospective customers.
- Recommend product assortments to customers, emphasizing salable features
- Maximize existing accounts gaining additional placement through additional SKUs and / or facings
- Develop and add new customers, cold calling retailers and other business prospects in assigned territory.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Keep thorough and up to date notes on all existing and target accounts.
- Assist in processing orders submitted through Faire and Brandwise as needed – ensuring accurate information flows from portal to D365
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
- Conduct regular meetings with assigned Rep Groups to review performance, secure orders, deliver product training, and provide support in accordance to exceed sales goals.
- Train all Reps within territory on new products via Teams and onsite at showrooms during Winter and Summer Markets.
- Shadow and Travel Reps on occasion to better understand market and support it accordingly.
- Coordinate and process all requests for Rep Kits including samples catalogs
- Ensure Rep contact information is always up to date, adding new reps and removing terminated reps
- Review, approve, and distribute all outside rep commissions prior to mailing on the 15th of every month
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
- Thought Leadership Duties
- Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports using manager-specified tools (primarily but not limited to D365, CRM, and Excel).
- Evaluate Rep group performance monthly and annually, conducting monthly / quarterly meetings with each group to review performance, discuss product launches, promotions, and collect feedback.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities observed during employment with NL, and potential for new products and services using manager-specified tools and formats.
- Forecast and provide progress reports on a bi-annual basis to NL Stake Holders
- Keep abreast of best practices and product trends.
Inter-Departmental Duties & Communication
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to provide market insights and contribute to the development of product offerings that meet customer needs
- Facilitate resolution of operational issues to address customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Other Duties
- Use and maintain with regularity, a Calendar of activity (Outlook/Monday) including customer appointments, Microsoft Teams meetings, and other time commitments like prospecting.
- Submit expense reports and receipts in a timely manner
- Prepare timely paperwork in a neat, legible, and professional manner.
- Help with duties related to E-Sale events hosted by Sales Team
- Attend sales meetings and trade shows
- Assist with Gift Shop Coverage as needed
- Always promotes a positive company image in-house and while traveling.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience successfully calling on both retailers and wholesaler customers and demonstrated skills in achieving sales and profitability goals.
- Business math ability (understanding margins, mark-up, etc.).
- Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Inside and/or outside sales experience in giftware preferred
- Any similar combination of education and experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Available for travel to trade shows
Salary : $60,406 - $62,500
