Summary :

The Nurse Manager is responsible for daily clinical and business operations of the OR, Pre & Post Op, and Sterile Processing Departments. Able to provide age-appropriate nursing care and serve as a resource to the units’ patient populations. Must be adaptable to a fast-paced ever-changing environment. A strong team player. Must possess exemplary customer service skills and demonstrate consistent use of caring behaviors. Ability to communicate well with all members of the healthcare team. Responsible for holding staff accountable in maintaining compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission Standards. Responsibilities include business planning, budgeting, facilitating physician relations, delegating day to day workload and performance responsibilities and directing these services in a cost effective and fully compliant manner.

Responsibilities :

· Adheres to governmental & industry specific regulations/laws. Maintains current knowledge of organization’s policies & procedures

· Facilitates strategic development of the surgical services program and is accountable for the operational management of this program by developing high performance staff focused on achieving best practice outcomes

· Provides prompt & effective service to internal & external customers

· Compiles, analyzes, & interprets data per business needs.

· Sterile Processing: directs & coordinates instrument processing activities & workflow in SPD area. Ensures instrumentation needs for next day’s cases are identified and instrumentation is available.

· Develops budgetary goals & is mindful of financial targets

· Identifies, pursues, & achieves established personal, team, & organizational goals. Assists with staff education and training as appropriate

· Maintains a safe environment for healthcare workers, patients, and/or visitors complying with NLH policies & procedures; reviews, documents, & addresses all incidents & safety violations within area of responsibility; reports all lost time due to reported work injuries within 24 hours to local HR BP or Safety contact; supports & facilitates open and non-punitive communication among NLH employees, non-employed healthcare workers, patients & visitors, reporting and addressing patient & environmental safety concerns

· Directly leads work efforts of subordinates and/or peers

· Contributes to the development of policies and procedures

· Other Duties as required
