Department: Medical Surgical Unit

Position is located: Greenville, ME. Please note travel to Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, ME will be required while in training.

About the program:

-Earn and Learn Model! The combination of education and work time (as a Patient Experience Aide) will make students full-time employee status while in training! Students will be paid 24 hours per week for education time and 12 hours a week for Patient Experience Aide time. As a full-time employee students will be eligible for all the Northern Light Health benefit offerings including, medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, wellness programs, and more!

- Training begins the week of May 11, 2026, and is approximately 6 weeks long.

- Work schedule will vary. The Nurse Leader will schedule employees work time around the required education time.

- Students will be assigned to work as a Patient Experience Aide for work time.

- Upon completion of the program students are required to transition to a full-time CNA position with a two-year work commitment to Northern Light CA Dean Hospital.

Requirements:

- 18 years of age or older high school graduate or equivalent (from a state-sanctioned program).

- Maine resident

- Willing to take a CASAS Assessment and receive an acceptable score

- Willing to work as Patient Experience Aide while in training.

-Willing to travel to Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield while in training.

- Willing to sign a two-year work commitment to Northern Light CA Dean Hospital to work in a full-time CNA role following training.

- Internal and In-System employees must be in good standing and in their position for a minimum of six months, unless approved by local HR.

Working Position Summary :

Follows all policies and procedures. Adheres to all safety procedures and applicable regulations. Works as part of the health care team to follow infection prevention guidelines and policies. Responsibilities :

Assists with monitoring patients who require 1:1 observation. Assists with feeding patients as needed (cutting food, opening packaging, etc.). Assists with mobilizing patients at the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Utilizes patient lifting equipment as part of a 2-person team. Assists with driving patients home from the hospital in the Courier/Patient vehicle.
