The Maintenance Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance activities for Northern Jet’s fleet of managed, Part 91K, and 135 aircraft. This role ensures that all maintenance operations comply with company policies, FAA regulations, and safety standards, while maximizing aircraft uptime. The Maintenance Controller will provide technical assistance, coordinate with various departments, and implement corrective actions to ensure safe and efficient flight operations.

This is a full-time position based in our Orlando, FL location. 

Schedule: Friday- Monday 6:00 am-4:30 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Coordinate Maintenance: Oversee maintenance activities on managed aircraft, ensuring that all repairs, inspections, and services are performed in accordance with Part 91K and 135 regulations.
  • Technical Assistance and Supervision: Provide guidance and technical support to maintenance teams and contractors when necessary.
  • Utilize Maintenance Software: Use CAMP Systems to track aircraft hours, cycles, inspections, status, and upcoming maintenance requirements.
  • Identify Maintenance Trends: Analyze flight logs and maintenance discrepancies to identify recurring unscheduled maintenance issues and develop processes to mitigate them.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Review maintenance events leading to delays or cancellations, identify controllable factors, and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure operations align with the GMM (General Maintenance Manual), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), maintenance programs, and all applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with Trip Support, Sales, and the Maintenance Departments to maximize aircraft downtime for necessary maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Service Centers: Manage relationships with maintenance service centers to ensure timely work completion, track progress, and provide updates in the maintenance control system.
  • Documentation Review: Review log entries and maintenance documentation for compliance with regulatory standards and internal processes.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Complete any additional tasks as directed by the Maintenance Control Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • FAA Certification: Must hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings issued by the FAA.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of FAA regulations, GMM, SOPs, and other industry standards.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide updates and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and thoroughness in tracking and documenting maintenance activities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or a similar technical field, with hands-on experience in Part 91K and 135 operations.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing desk-based tasks (e.g., reviewing logs, tracking maintenance data).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., handling documents, tools, or equipment).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Some travel may be required to visit maintenance service centers or on-site aircraft inspections.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operations, including weekends or holidays.
