We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced General Accountant to join our accounting team. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting transactions, performing account reconciliations, and providing analysis to support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented—someone who jumps in without being asked, finds ways to improve processes, and supports the team with both knowledge and initiative.
This is a fast-paced, in-office role requiring strong time management, accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Orlando, Florida.
Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
- Record and maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Analyze financial statements and transactions to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Expense Management:
- Record, categorize, and reconcile company expenses and credit card transactions.
- Analyze expense trends, variances to budget, and provide actionable insights to management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual expense reports and variance analyses.
Vendor & Accounts Management:
- Assist with vendor invoice processing, billing resolutions, and timely payments.
- Collaborate with procurement and other departments to optimize vendor relationships and cost efficiency.
Process Improvement & Collaboration:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to colleagues on accounting practices and policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial operations and reporting.
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and timely responses.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
- Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in general accounting; experience in fast-paced environments preferred.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, in-office environment.
- Interest in aviation is a plus.
