What are the responsibilities and job description for the RHC-NIA Medical Assistant II position at Northern Inyo Healthcare District?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the Medical Direction of the Clinic Physicians and their designees, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistants, to carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Directly responsible to the RHC/NIA Managers or their designee.
- The MA is directly supervised by the Clinic Physician or their designee (NP or PA) for clinical practice
- Works closely with District leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.
OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS:
Works in the outpatient clinic setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Medical Assistant training course completion
Education: High School Diploma or GED certificate
Certification: BLS upon hire
Preferred
Experience: 1 year experience in medical field or clinical back office setting
Certification: California Certified Medical Assistant certification or similar National certification
10-hour shifts
Schedule may vary some Saturdays required
