What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Clerk position at Northern Inyo Healthcare District?
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs the following duties of the Purchasing Department under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Coordinator: Performs daily Item Master Maintenance, Receiving, Storing, and Issuing of materials, supplies and equipment into the computerized Materials Management system. Unpacks and inspects items for damage and defects. Verifies accuracy of shipments with information on invoices, packing slips and/or purchase orders. Notes discrepancies and does appropriate follow-up. Periodically does physical inventory to verify computer counts. May be required to leave hospital grounds to purchase supplies if necessary.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Directly responsible to the Purchasing Director.
- Works as a member of Purchasing Department team
- Works closely with hospital district leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Required
- Usual education experience needed for satisfactory performance is 2-3 years hospital/healthcare experience; high school or GED.
Preferred
- 2 years hospital warehouse and distribution experience.
