The Opportunity:
Northern Illinois Food Bank is seeking highly motivated candidates to join our team as a Child Nutrition Summer Food Receiver. This part-time, seasonal role serves as a front-line delivery receiver, responsible for confirming the accuracy of program food deliveries and supporting efficient, compliant distribution to ensure children have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer. This position is approximately 15 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., from May 26 through August 7, 2026.

This Part-time seasonal position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive daily food order from vendor.
• Communicate with Child Nutrition Team or Team Manager when delivery is not on-time or inaccurate.
• Check delivery received against invoices and order.
• Report any discrepancies to vendor driver and Child Nutrition staff or Child Nutrition Manager.
• Assist drivers with palletizing and packing food into coolers as needed.
• Track non-delivered meals.
• Other duties that may be requested by the Program Manager in order to properly operate the program or contribute to the work of NIFB.
• Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
