What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator, Residential Services position at Northern Human Services?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general direction from Supervisor and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for the functioning of residential and outreach services within a given catchment area to include individual placements, program development and personnel supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Demonstrates an understanding of the Agency’s vision and mission, communicates it to staff and acts in accordance with it
· Consistently acts with honesty and integrity, while demonstrating strong commitment to quality services and the interests of individuals served
· Effectively performs job requirements and develops competencies as necessary to perform the job
· Oversees, coordinates and maintains the residential records
· Monitors house operating budget(s)
· Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of the residences
· The Residential Services Manager is on call outside of regularly scheduled shifts for issues related to staffing call outs or changes as needed.
· Works with Case Manager/Service Coordinator on the periodic review and refinement of Individual Treatment Plan/ISA for each resident.
· Maintains an awareness of and utilizes other community resources as consumer needs indicate
· Ensures that residences meet all applicable standards for licensure & certification
· Assures quality of care for all residents
· Assures adequate staffing coverage for individuals served
· Hires, trains and supervises staff; evaluates staff performance
· Conducts at least monthly staff meetings
· Gathers verification proofs for residents of HUD funded homes, contacts potential residents that are on waitlist when there is a vacancy in the home, arrange house visits/tours with potential residents
· Attends all meetings that are assigned by Area Director
· Directly supervises; Residential Team Leads and Residential Advisors.

· Acts as a positive role model for individuals served, community and staff
· Able to assign responsibilities, provide support, motivation and constructive feedback, while ensuring accountability and quality services
· Maintains a flexible, positive approach to problem solving and decision-making
· Manages the stress of competing demands with working independently and efficiently
· Provides transportation for persons served as required, which may include transporting in employee’s personal vehicle
· Knowledge of boundary issues, as well as human and civil rights and the importance of confidentiality regarding persons served
· Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and minimum two years of prior work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Knowledge of the role of providing residential services
· Effective spokesperson possessing the ability to edit written text to ensure a clear, constructive, concise and accurate message
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable and insured vehicle in which one or two consumers can be transported daily
· Moderate computer skills including the ability to navigate MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Agency Systems as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Residential Advisors and others as assigned
