Experienced HVAC Installer

Northern Heating & Cooling has been keeping Great Falls and the surrounding communities comfortable since 1963. We're a locally owned company, and over the years we've built a solid reputation by doing quality work, treating our customers right, and standing behind what we do.

We handle a little bit of everything—from residential heating and cooling to commercial and light industrial work throughout North Central Montana. That means there's plenty of variety, and you're not doing the exact same install every day.

Right now, we're looking for an experienced HVAC Installer to add to our crew. We're looking for someone who already knows the trade, can confidently handle residential installations from start to finish, and isn't afraid to jump in and figure things out when a job doesn't go exactly as planned.

This isn't an entry-level position. We need someone who's comfortable with equipment installation, sheet metal and ductwork, gas piping, venting, line sets, and the other day-to-day work that comes with a complete HVAC installation. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who's dependable, works well with the crew, and takes pride in leaving behind a job that's done right.

What You'll Do

• Install residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-splits, and other HVAC equipment
• Complete full system replacements, retrofits, and new HVAC installations
• Fabricate, install, modify, and repair sheet metal and ductwork
• Install and modify supply and return air systems
• Install natural gas and propane piping
• Run refrigerant line sets, condensate drains, venting, and associated HVAC piping
• Complete equipment changeouts and retrofit installations
• Perform start-up, testing, and verification of newly installed equipment
• Identify and resolve installation-related issues in the field
• Read and follow equipment specifications and installation requirements
• Coordinate with technicians, contractors, customers, and other trades as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
• Ensure installations meet company standards and applicable codes

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced installer who:

• Has proven residential HVAC installation experience
• Is proficient in sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation
• Has experience installing and modifying natural gas and propane piping
• Can confidently install furnaces, A/C systems, heat pumps, mini-splits, and related equipment
• Understands proper venting, drainage, airflow, refrigeration piping, and equipment setup
• Can work independently without needing constant supervision
• Is comfortable troubleshooting and finding solutions when unexpected issues come up during an installation
• Takes pride in clean, professional-looking work
• Is dependable and shows up ready to work
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Maintains a professional attitude when working in customers' homes and businesses
• Understands that doing the job right is more important than taking shortcuts

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of HVAC installation experience preferred
• Strong residential HVAC installation experience required
• Sheet metal and ductwork experience required
• Gas piping experience required
• Valid driver's license required
• EPA Certification preferred
• Current TWIC card is beneficial/preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of HVAC installation, including lifting equipment, working from ladders, and working in crawlspaces and attics

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday
• 8-hour shifts
• Overtime available as needed
