We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, and HVAC components across various fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and general vehicle inspections.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers by following schematics and technical manuals.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and electrical experience to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Perform welding, soldering, and assembly work for equipment repair or fabrication projects while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Fleet experience or similar service technician background is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension systems, and transmissions.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Class A CDL preferred or the ability to obtain in 12 months.
- Certifications related to automotive repair or heavy equipment operation are advantageous but not mandatory.
