Parts Counter Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Counter Representative to join our team in Duluth, MN. The Parts Counter Representative will be responsible for assisting customers, assembling custom hoses, managing parts inventory, and providing exceptional service to support our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a hands-on approach, a passion for customer service, and knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, heavy-duty vehicles, off-highway equipment parts and accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers (in-person, over the phone, and via email) with parts inquiries, identifying their needs, fulfilling orders, and recommending appropriate parts and accessories.
• Parts Lookup and Sales: Utilize parts catalogs, digital systems, and inventory databases to locate and provide accurate parts information, process sales, and issue invoices.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and organizing parts, ensuring accurate stock levels, and conducting periodic inventory counts.
• Order Processing: Place special orders for non-stocked items, coordinate with suppliers, and communicate delivery timelines to customers.
• Technical Support: Provide basic technical guidance to customers regarding parts compatibility and installation, collaborating with service technicians as needed.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales, returns, and inventory transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with service and sales teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
• Shop Maintenance: Keep the parts counter and surrounding area clean, organized, and presentable.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in automotive or diesel technology is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in a parts department, automotive, or heavy-duty equipment industry preferred but not required.
• Skills:
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, heavy-duty diesel truck and equipment parts or willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with computers, including inventory management software and parts lookup systems.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 75 pounds, stand for extended periods, and occasionally work in a warehouse environment.
• Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license preferred; must be able to pass a background check.
