Northern Energy Services - Rig Up Driver – North Slope
General Description
Rig Up Drivers are primarily responsible for operating Winch Trucks, Bed Trucks, and SOWs transporting rigs, tanks and other misc oilfield equipment between drill sites. Rig up drivers may operate other North Slope oilfield equipment such as vac trucks, super suckers, font end loaders, dozers and other equipment as needed. Other duties may be assigned as required, including yard cleanup, maintenance or roustabout duties. Driving will be on ice roads during winter months.
Candidate must have knowledge of and experience with rig moving, winch work, oil and gas field operations, construction projects, and environmental compliance with waste management.
This position is on the North Slope of Alaska which is an Arctic Environment. Work rotation is planned to be 4 weeks on 2 weeks off, but may vary depending on project requirements.
Essential Duties and Job Requirements
- Operate winch trucks, bed trucks, SOWs and other equipment for north slope operations
- Move rigs and other oilfield equipment with Winch Trucks and Bed Trucks
- Move rigs with Kenworth 849 SOWs
- Operate rig support equipment (vac truck and super sucker) as needed
- Perform other duties as required
- Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
- Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions
- Report all incidents involving injuries, spills, equipment malfunction or damage to the supervisor.
- Support zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Minimum Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of rig up experience including operating a winch truck, bed truck or SOWs
- Arctic oilfield experience is preferred.
- Experience with front end loaders, dozers, vac trucks, super suckers and other oilfield equipment is preferred.
Job Requirements
- Class A CDL w/ Tanker and Hazmat
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Complete or maintain Red Book Transporter Training
