Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist with a Dental Hygiene degree to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in dental and medical administrative support, and a passion for providing exceptional patient service. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical billing, insurance verification, and dental terminology, all while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using various EHR systems such as SoftDent, Vyne Dental, and Various insurance portals.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and documentation review.
- Collect payments and perform medical collections in accordance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines and ensure proper documentation review for accuracy.
- Support clinical staff by managing patient intake forms, updating medical records, and coordinating care plans.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to ensure an organized front desk environment.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette, professional demeanor, and customer service skills to foster positive patient experiences.
Requirements
- Dental Hygiene degree or equivalent certification with valid licensure.
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office setting, including front desk or reception duties.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or SoftDent.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and office management software like SoftDent or Dentrix.
- Ability to perform insurance verification accurately and efficiently while adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Excellent communication skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
