What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at Northern Colorado Foodshed Project?
Northern Colorado Foodshed Project is hiring our next Executive Director, and we’re excited to welcome a driven, relationship-centered leader to help guide our next chapter. Since 2019, we’ve grown into a fast-moving, partnership-driven nonprofit, raising over $1M to launch and scale programs that strengthen our local food system, support farmers, and expand access to fresh, affordable food across Northern Colorado.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a small organization where communication, follow-through, and trust really matter. You’ll manage currently funded programs like our Farm Business Accelerator and Familiar Foods mobile market, steward key community and producer partnerships, lead a small team (3 to 4 part-time staff), and work closely with our Board to shape what comes next. The position is a contract role, 120 flexible hours per month (about 30 hours per week), paid $4,800/month, with funding in place through 2027 and real room to grow with additional support.
How to apply: Email a resume and short cover letter to Alyssa McConkey at president@foodshedproject.org with the subject line “Executive Director Position.”
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the start date is ASAP (target February 2026).
