At Northern California Fertility Medical Center, we’re committed to delivering compassionate, patient-focused fertility care, supporting patients through every step of their fertility journey. We’re looking for a full-time Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Sacramento!
Essential Functions:

Perform daily andrology and hormone blood testing procedures in the lab, as scheduled

Report test results following clinic protocols, highlighting “red flag” results to physicians and/or nurses
-
Ensure timely and accurate completion of internal laboratory tests
-
Verify quality controls are within acceptable limits before performing tests

Maintain lab equipment and supplies as needed
-
Comply with CLIA and FDA regulations
-
Coordinate sperm cryopreservation for external patients
-
Maintain daily Quality Control logs and perform associated activities
-
Conduct lab clean-up at the end of the day, including hazardous waste removal and general lab maintenance

Follow policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control
Education:
-
Bachelor of Science degree required
Knowledge:

Proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment

Laboratory safety policies and regulations

Sterile technique
Skills:

Equipment use, preventative maintenance, and repair

Microscopy and hand-eye coordination
-
Demonstrates strong work ethic
Abilities:

Adhere to strict attention to detail for all lab tasks

Read, understand, and follow written protocols

Organize effectively and work quickly with a high degree of accuracy
Environmental/Working Conditions:

Combination of laboratory, medical office, and exam/procedure room settings

Well-lit and ventilated workspace with adequate space

Handle and process bodily fluids and tissue using appropriate PPE
Physical/Mental Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, and stooping for extended periods
-
Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds
-
Visual acuity, depth perception, and normal color perception required

Normal range of hearing in the presence of background noise; able to distinguish alert signals (timers, alarms, equipment sounds)
