What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Northern California Arthritis Center?
We are fast pace office who is looking for a full time dependable Medical Assistant for front and back office who is reliable, detail oriented, has initiative and understands the value of attendance and punctuality. This position requires you to travel from both of our locations in Walnut Creek and San Ramon. This is the perfect job for someone who likes to drive, meet new people every day, and not be stuck at the same office day in and day out.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Current CPR Certificate
· Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
· One year of Medical Assisting (preferred)
· Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to our other clinic in San Ramon.
· Must be comfortable using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software (we will train the successful candidate to use our software).

- Ability to anticipate patient needs and take proactive measures to meet those needs and resolve issues (within scope of practice).

- Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.

- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation
- Protect the confidentiality and security of patient information and adhere to HIPPA Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation regulations.
Job Duties
- Greet patients appropriately and escort them to the exam room.
- Take patient histories, vital signs, prepare patients for exams.
- Keep exam room clean and stocked at all time.
- Accurately documents actions and the patient’s response in EHR.
- Prior Authorization for various medications and procedure.
- Answering phones and making appointments.
- Checking out patients if needed.
- Collect Co-pays.
