Role Summary
The Test Material Control Technician I will engage in performing basic test material management and maintaining the laboratory facility and facilitate senior staff in completing other assigned work in a timely, efficient, and correct manner as related to test material.
Role Responsibilities
Proper receipt for material in accordance with SOPs and/or Sponsor requirements
Proper labeling, storage, reconciliation, and disposal of test article, control article, and/or vehicle in accordance with SOPs requirements
Preparation of all compounds which includes calculations, aseptic technique, use of micropipette and laminar flow hood and/or biological safety cabinet in accordance with SOPs requirements
Collect and record data both on paper and electronically in a laboratory management system in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Introduction to data review for GLP compliance
Assistance with supply inventory and storage requirements
Assistance with equipment maintenance
Assistance in accountabilities and shipping procedures
Waste management including proper disposal of biohazard materials and chemicals
Other duties as assigned
Role Requirements
High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s Degree with 6 months of experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications
Strong written and oral communication skills
General understanding of laboratory techniques and data collection
Ability to demonstrate the scientific relevance of the tests being conducted
Ability to troubleshoot advanced instrument functions
Basic understanding of study design and protocols

Special Requirements
This role works both in a laboratory setting and an office setting. There will be exposure to animal pathogens and chemicals. There will be handling of, and/or exposure to, animal tissues and zoonotic organisms.
Ability to don and wear personal protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators.
Physical activity including lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying (up to 40lbs for up to 50 feet), pushing/pulling (up to 75lbs force), reaching, gripping/pinching, standing, and ascending ladder without restriction.
Ability to work beyond typical work schedule including, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts with short notice.
Salary : $18 - $24
