Northern Biogas designs, builds, owns, and operates Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. The Site Lead - Operations & Maintenance is responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations while directing Operations & Maintenance Technicians. This hands-on leader manages plant operations, maintenance, contractors, safety compliance, and continuous improvement to maximize throughput. Experience in industrial operations, maintenance supervision, landfill gas, manufacturing, or similar process environments is preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site operations and maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility performance.
- Direct and support on-site Operations & Maintenance Technicians, including work order assignments, training, and accountability for completed tasks.
- Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues, identify root cause failure and coordinate repairs of process equipment.
- Coordinate landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) activities, including wellfield troubleshooting, tuning, and communication with landfill stakeholders as needed.
- Plan and coordinate contractors, vendors, and outage work to ensure jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and within scope.
- Enforce site safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, permits, and company standards.
- Manage site materials, critical spares, and inventory to support uninterrupted operations and maintenance readiness.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to improve plant reliability, throughput, and maintenance planning.
- Be available for on-call support, limited weekend work, and emergency response as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- 5 years of experience in industrial operations or maintenance, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of CMMS or Work Management Systems and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Regularly bend, stoop, climb between levels, lift up to 50 lbs., and manually move loads up to 75 lbs
- Willingness to work outdoors up to 75% of each workday.
- Ability to lead by example in safety, decision-making, communication, and task execution in a dynamic field environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in landfill operations, natural gas, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, power generation, maintenance planning or other process industries.
- Familiarity with rotating and fixed equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, motor controls, and process troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and support a small site team.
- Experience with commissioning, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and maintaining plant performance at or near capacity.
