What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-Term Substitute position at Northern Berkshire Vocational Regional School District?
Letters of application are being accepted for the position of long-term substitute. All applicants should have prior experience working with high-school aged students. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Applicants must be flexible and able to respond to a changing educational environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Knowledge of instructional practices and individual learning styles.
2.Knowledge of formal and informal student assessment techniques.
3.Ability to adapt and respond to a varied schedule on short notice.
4.Knowledge of the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks.
5.Knowledge of skills and techniques for successfully working with students on Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Accommodation Plans and making related accommodations.
6.Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Deliver lessons according to teacher provided plans.
2.Supervise and manage students in the classroom.
3.Ensure tasks assigned by instructors are completed by the students.
4.Provide dependable, responsible, coverage as assigned daily by administration.
5.Utilize standards-based teaching and assessment methods as directed by instructors.
6.Create a safe classroom environment conducive to student learning.
7.Ability to transport students in school vehicle(s).
8.Assume the obligations ordinarily associated with the teaching profession.
