Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for those in our care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure quality care.
- Support patients with special needs including those with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.
Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:
- Experience in critical care, long-term care, assisted living, or nursing home settings.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and hospital environments.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and medication administration.
- Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory-related conditions.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation.
- Understanding of basic life support (BLS) protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in various healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, or teaching hospitals.
