Company Description

Northern Alliance Financial is dedicated to helping clients achieve financial confidence and security in retirement. We specialize in crafting financial strategies tailored to preserving wealth, optimizing investments, and ensuring a secure financial future. Our comprehensive services include retirement income planning, portfolio management, tax planning, Medicare planning, and legacy & estate planning. In addition to offering personalized financial guidance, we provide educational opportunities through seminars, our weekly TV show "Conquering Retirement," and the "Financial Safari" radio show and podcast. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower individuals to achieve financial independence during their retirement years.

About the Role

Northern Alliance Financial was built around allowing advisors to do what they do best: listen to clients as Fiduciary Advisors, build authentic relationships, and craft comprehensive financial plans for them. We invest heavily in marketing—TV, radio, digital, and live educational events/seminars—so our offices statewide are continuously filled with retirement-age prospects seeking guidance.

Northern Alliance Financial is looking for an advisor who thrives in client-facing meetings, can turn prospects into long-term clients, and wants to focus on meaningful financial planning rather than chasing leads or handling busywork.

What’s In It For You:

  • Firm-provided appointments: No cold calling, door-knocking, or personal seminar spend—every first appointment comes from our marketing efforts and educational events.
  • Meaningful base plus upside: Substantial guaranteed base with performance-driven incentive compensation—your earning potential isn’t capped.
  • Focus on meetings, not busywork: Northern Alliance has an in-house administrative team that handles scheduling, prep, administrative paperwork, and ongoing service to accounts.
  • Statewide flexibility: Work from any of our seven Maine offices (an additional office planned for the coming years).
  • A real growth path: Consistent performers see increasing income, responsibility, and opportunities to grow with the organization as we continue our statewide expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-office and virtual appointments with qualified retirees and pre-retirees looking for assistance.
  • Design and present comprehensive retirement plans using managed money solutions, fixed indexed annuities, and more. We strive to tailor retirement plans to each client's individual income needs and goals, so listening and providing feedback is a critical skill.
  • Turn prospects into long-term clients through clear recommendations and trusted guidance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations staff to stay focused on client-facing activities and collateral.
  • Stay current and compliant through ongoing education on products, strategies, and regulatory updates.

Who This Role is NOT For:

  • Advisors who avoid sales or prefer behind-the-scenes work only.
  •  Those who struggle to follow up on warm leads.
  • Candidates who are uncomfortable with structure, accountability, or running a disciplined schedule.
  • Remote-only candidates; while we offer flexibility and some work-from-home options, candidates must be able to work from the office and meet clients in person as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active life insurance license and Series 65, or equivalent credential (7/66, CFP, ChFC) for fee-based advisory work.
  • Proven client-facing advisory experience in financial advice, retirement planning, or wealth management.
  • Track record of converting prospects into clients, particularly in retirement-focused situations.
  • Strong communication and trust-building skills with retirement-aged, mass affluent clients.
  • Drive to focus primarily on client meetings, advice, and business growth while leveraging firm marketing and operations support.

How to Apply:

If you are an experienced advisor in Maine—or ready to relocate—who wants to spend your weeks in meaningful conversations about retirement while plugging into a robust statewide marketing engine, we want to hear from you. We currently have openings in the Brewer, Brunswick, Southern Maine territories.

Please send your resume and cover letter to our Chief of Operations Officer, Brittany Harrington: bharrington@nafinancialadvisors.com to get the process started.
