What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Studies Teacher position at Northern Academy?
Northern Academy is seeking social studies teachers, teaching World History, US History, Civics, and Economics. Ability to teach AP level US Government, Microeconomics, or Macroeconomics will be a big plus. The teacher position will be start on August 13, 2026 .
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree or above
-Strong work ethic, a willingness to assume a variety of roles, and a desire to be part of a collaborative learning environment
-Ability and desire to appropriately modify instructional approaches to promptly address student needs, and to receive and implement feedback on improving one's teaching skills.
-Prioritize primary source analysis in the classroom; the ability to understand and analyze original historical documents under historical context is an important aspect of how we develop truly independent thinkers.
