About the Opportunity
Innovation of the Bouvé College of Health Sciences in the Dean’s office, and works closely with the Board of the Health Sciences Entrepreneurs (HSE) program and the HSE Associate Director to further develop the HSE program. The HSE program, housed within the Bouvé College of Health Sciences and part of a broad entrepreneurship ecosystem at Northeastern University, aims to enhance collaborations across the university in matters involving health-related innovation and entrepreneurship. Northeastern University has a thriving and broad entrepreneurship ecosystem that spans multiple regional campuses and institutes, and has an engaging alumni relations network. The core mission of the HSE program is to coordinate high-touch quality mentoring to venture teams pursuing entrepreneurship in the healthcare / health science / health tech space. The HSE program has approximately 15-20 active venture teams per year and a growing mentor network of over 100 experts spanning the health, finance / venture, legal, and industry sectors. The EIR is a core member of the HSE program and is responsible for mentoring teams, evaluation of a venture’s eligibility into the HSE program, serving as a liaison with other entrepreneurship entities at Northeastern University, driving collaborative strategic initiatives to improve / grow the HSE program, and being a strong positive ambassador for the program through engagement in other relevant activities.
Qualifications:
General knowledge of regulatory, legal, and payor factors affecting innovation in the health space with healthcare technology exposure (devices, therapeutics, digital health, healthcare networks, etc.).
Strong communication skills. Outstanding writing and editing skills, particularly of technical and health-related documents. Superior organizational capabilities and ability to work independently with strong self-initiative. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience that include work in health care start-ups, program development, entrepreneurial experience including venture business evaluation and working with venture capital and angel networks. Experience with NIH and NSF grant mechanisms and grant applications is a plus.

2. INTRA-UNIVERSITY ECOSYTEM
- HSE Ombudsman (HSE as the “go-to” healthcare/health science program)
- Internal marketing
- Interact/communicate with other NU Programs
- Direct involvement with the I-Corp program
- Academic program support
- Collaboration with the development office to support their fundraising efforts
3. EXTRA-UNIVERSITY RELATIONS
- External HSE relations
- External marketing
- Develop company partnerships
- Liaison to external entrepreneurial programs (e.g., Mass Challenge, etc.)
- Seek out venture capital and angel funding opportunities
