About the Opportunity JOB SUMMARY: Develop and deliver comprehensive co-op and career services for The Roux Institute and for domestic and international graduate students enrolled in graduate and certificate programs. Counsel students on co-op/job acquisition, career exploration and career management to prepare them for co-op/internships, as well as transitions to new professional employment after graduate school. In collaboration with Roux colleagues, facilitate employer outreach and develop relationships with employers to increase employment opportunities for co-op and graduating students. Create and deliver an array of co-curricular services such as seminars, networking events, speaker events, and other programs to meet the needs of students. Monitor industry and workforce trends in order to shape priorities for the development of new programs and services. Maintain knowledge of university and college career resources. Track and maintain student placement data (internship, co-op, and permanent placement). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree 3-5 years of experience in career development or related field Excellent counseling, teaching, event management skills Ability to supervise and mentor a graduate level assistant Experience in delivering programs with technology RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Individual Client Case Management Counsel and coach students via individual in person, phone and video appointments regarding career development, career paths, and skill building. Maintain electronic records of each student’s progress in Northeastern database. Assist students with researching career paths, identifying full time job opportunities and expanding their experience/skills. Assist students with their job search process (cover letters, networking, resumes, interviewing techniques, and salary negotiation) Maintain broad current knowledge of career and economic trends and their impact on career paths. Program Design and Management Collaborate and build relationships with academic faculty/advisers, and cooperative education coordinators (Roux and Boston campuses and other regional campuses as needed)to design targeted programming . Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, innovative career education programs for students Collaborate with student services departments and student organizations on joint programming Increase visibility and attendance for programs through promotion and outreach. This includes communicating with students via email, student portals, cooperative education coordinators, academic faculty and student services departments and marketing/communications Track, maintain, and produce reports on student placement data (internship, co-op, and permanent placement). Employer Relations In collaboration with Roux team, help to steward and deepen relationships with employers to increase employment opportunities. Play a key role in organization of career fairs, employer info sessions and on-campus or video interviews through which students can engage directly with employers. Coordinate programming initiatives for students that facilitate meaningful exchanges with employers and that result in increased career awareness, networking and job opportunities. Participate in employer events and site visits.
