Established at Northeastern 39 years ago in 1983, Balfour Academy is an academic enrichment program for middle and high school students from Boston. Balfour supports 120 students from 7-12th grade each year. Balfour admits rising 7th graders who commit to spending every summer between 6th to 12th-grade on Northeastern’s campus for a 6-week, full-time, on-ground Summer Academy where they take academic classes and participate in experiential activities. During the school year, the 7-12th grade students attend twice-weekly tutoring and advising sessions. Balfour alumni who matriculate at Northeastern as undergraduate students provide mentoring and tutoring support to current Balfour students.
This scope of work is for a 6-week period beginning on June 24, 2026 and ending on July 31, 2026. Time commitment is 40 hours per week over the 6-week time frame. This work is conducted on-ground.

Responsibilities
- Support daily office needs including answering calls, collecting mail, responding to emails, confirming attendance and verifying absences
- Support instructors with classroom needs and materials.
- Record keeping and data collection
- Support with Open House needs
- Organize awards and programs for ceremony
- Organize final evaluations for students at the conclusion of the Summer Academy.
