Responsibilities of Adjunct English Instructor
Creates, administers, grades, and maintains records for exams, projects, activities, and reports for the evaluation of students in each course. Evaluates students and participates in course improvements. Advises students in relation to academic progress, participates in the evaluation and acquisition of instructional materials, audio-visual aids, support, and equipment needs, participates in the revision process as needed for the course(s) or curricula in a field or related area, and actively participates in student retention.
Teaches an in-person class on the Cheraw Campus during the final five weeks of the Summer Semester, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:05 p.m., beginning June 22, 2026, and ending August 2, 2026.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master's Degree with 18 credit hours in the subject area (English).
Previous teaching experience at community/technical college, high schools, industries, and/or prisons. Experience using a variety of teaching modalities (face-to-face, broadcast, and online). Must have a driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching ability is a must, with concern for student success and willingness to advise students on a regular basis.
