Assistant Professor of English
The Department of Languages and Literature at Northeastern State University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of English with an emphasis on comparative literature and humanities.
Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load of undergraduate courses including comparative literature and world literature courses, general education courses including courses supporting the Humanities minor, and GE requirements. Graduate courses may be part of the faculty load as well depending on the candidate’s qualifications. The position may share some course load with American Studies, the Humanities minor, and possibly other programs depending on qualifications with previous experience in those or related fields strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a PhD in English or Comparative Literature in hand with a demonstrable relevant coursework with experience in teaching and mentorship preferred. The institution may revise the terms of this role based on changes in state laws or policies.
Northeastern State University is a teaching intensive institution. While the position’s primary focus will be in the classroom, experience with service and/or a strong publication record are preferred qualifications.
