Position Summary
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Bus Drivers are responsible for transporting students and staff for scheduled excursions such as sporting events and field trips. The bus driver will be required to ensure vehicle operation is in safe operating condition and ensure safety of students and staff during transport, loading, and unloading of buses.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Bus Drivers are responsible for transporting students and staff for scheduled excursions such as sporting events and field trips. The bus driver will be required to ensure vehicle operation is in safe operating condition and ensure safety of students and staff during transport, loading, and unloading of buses.
Essential Functions
- Drive college bus for the purpose of transporting passengers in a safe and timely manner.
- Advise passengers of appropriate behavior for the purpose of reinforcing regulations and maintaining passenger safety.
- Assess incidents, accidents, or potential emergency situations along the route, in order to recommend a resolution to the situation.
- Clean interior and exterior of bus to maintain a safe and sanitary condition.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (fluid levels, lighting, tires, etc).
- Prepare written materials (trip reports, incident reports, driver log, etc).
- Report observations of discipline issues, accidents, and improper behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Administer first aid as needed for the purpose of immediate health care needs.
- Understand and follow roadside safety and emergency procedures.
- Report maintenance issues to Transportation Director.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possess a valid Commercial Class Driver's license with the following requirements
- Class A or B
- Passenger Endorsement
- School Bus Endorsement
- Air Brake Certified
- Provide proof of current DOT physical examination
- Be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be flexible to work hours that may involve evening and weekend work hours.
- Must be able to sit, bend, stoop, and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Be able to effectively operate electronic devices (GPS, computers, etc)
- Have a working knowledge of large bus operation and minimum knowledge of diesel engines.
