Position Description
Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado invites qualified people to apply for the position of nurse faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction to students pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing. S/he will instruct in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings using innovative evidence-based teaching methods. The successful nurse faculty will work with the nursing department team to develop and maintain accreditation, revise nursing curriculum and maintain appropriate nursing department procedures.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide effective instruction in the classroom, laboratory and clinical setting.
- Incorporate innovative teaching practices that are evidence-based teaching methods with the use of educational technology.
- Evaluate students' work to determine a course grade and provide feedback to students on strengths and growth needs.
- Develop and maintain student assessments that will ensure the successful nursing students have the knowledge needed to successfully pass NCLEX in the nursing content assigned.
- Participate in curriculum review and development to ensure curriculum meets all academic standards.
- Work with the entire nursing team to increase nursing students' retention while maintaining NCLEX pass rates.
- Role model professional nursing behavior in the classroom, laboratory and clinical setting.
- Serve as an academic advisor for students who are interested in the nursing program or who are currently enrolled in the program.
- Participating in all department meetings to include curriculum review meetings, student/faculty liaison meetings, nursing advisory meetings, accreditation meetings and faculty meetings.
- Participate in completion of the Systematic Evaluation Plan each academic year by completing his/her assignment.
- Keep current in the field of nursing based on specific courses assigned.
- Commit to follow the procedures developed by the nursing department in individual course assignments.
- Commit to providing equal access for all individuals, as well as ensuring that website materials, digital content, and paper documents are fully accessible to people with all disabilities.
- Performs all other relevant duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
- Effective organizational and time management skills to prepare and deliver instruction.
- Strong verbal and written communication to provide feedback to students on strength and growth needs.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft word, power point and willingness to embrace educational and simulation technology.
- Strong, engaging presentation skills.
What We Require:
- Master's in nursing or a bachelor's in nursing with the commitment to obtain a Master's in nursing within two years of hire.
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing practice.
- Nursing license in good standing.
- Ability obtain and maintain a vocational credential required.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Commitment to updating immunizations and health requirements established by clinical sites to provide clinical instruction.
What We Can Offer:
This is a 166 full-time faculty appointment. Salary range $59,000-$70,600 commensurate with education and experience.
