Overview:
The Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (NECCOG) seeks a part-time Kennel Cleaner (4 hrs. per day/ 2 to 3 days per week) for its Animal Services Program to assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of its animal facility located in Norwich.
The kennel Cleaner, under the supervision of the NECCOG Animal Services Regional Supervisor and in accordance with NECCOG procedures, is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of dog kennels, cat housing, and related needs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, removing animal waste, changing litter boxes, disinfecting kennels - including the use of using disinfectant cleaners, cleaning food and water dishes, stocking supplies, general sweeping, moping, and related tasks as required. This position requires tolerance for loud noises and the ability to adhere to safety protocols when using cleaning agents. This job is physically demanding, and requires repetitious scrubbing, bending, and lifting of up to 35 pounds. The Kennel Cleaner position is one with routine animal contact (of all breeds) - requiring a comfort level with such contact. Finally, the person must not be afraid to get dirty. It may be required to help the Killingly location at times.
