Job Overview
Northeastern Building Supply is seeking a skilled Boom Truck Operator / CDL Driver to support our building-materials delivery operations. In this role, you will safely operate boom trucks for sheetrock and lumber, flatbed trucks, Moffett/piggyback forklifts, and tractor trailers (manual or automatic). You will be responsible for delivering materials to residential and commercial jobsites, ensuring accuracy, safety, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate boom trucks to load drywall, lumber, and other building materials
- Drive flatbed trucks (manual or automatic transmissions)
- Operate Moffett/piggyback forklifts for unloading and jobsite placement
- Drive tractor trailers to move materials between yards, reloads, and job sites
- Perform safe and accurate roof drops, window deliveries, garage drops, curbside deliveries
- Secure loads using proper strapping, blocking, and tie-down procedures
- Communicate with dispatch, yard staff, and customers to ensure smooth deliveries
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and company requirements
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-functioning equipment
- Follow all safety policies and operate in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards
- Assist with material handling when needed (loading/unloading at yard or jobsite)
Experience / Requirements
- Valid CDL A
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
- Experience operating:
- Boom trucks (drywall, lumber, metal studs, insulation)
- Moffett/piggyback forklifts
- Flatbeds
- Tractor trailers
- Knowledge of proper load securement for drywall, lumber, metal studs, and other building materials
- Comfortable navigating residential neighborhoods, job sites, tight access areas
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices
- Ability to read delivery tickets and verify material accuracy
- Customer-service mindset with professional communication skills
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues
- Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs as needed
- Stand for long periods of time
- Sit for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
