Drivers- After School Care and Transport

Summary

Join our team as an after-school driver! We're looking for responsible individuals to help transport children from school to our Center. This opportunity is open to both volunteers and paid drivers, and we especially welcome retired bus drivers!

NEYC offers a safe and engaging environment for children to grow and learn. As consistent, stable adults, our teachers model the way for children. This means our teachers show children positive ways of being with others, learning, and solving conflict by example.

The children and staff of NEYC are all unique individuals. We strive to support children by helping them identify their individual strengths and qualities, and encouraging them to work through a strengths-based lens. Each child has their own unique needs and gifts!

While each child is unique in their own right, what each of our children have in common is their collective need for access to the basic resources needed to succeed: regular nutritional meals, extra help finishing their homework, the presence of caring and nurturing adult role models, a safe place where they feel loved and accepted for who they are, and a wide-array of opportunities to experience and engage in our community–opportunities they would not otherwise have.

Duties

- Vehicle Safety Checks
- Driving between the Center and nearby elementary schools
- Accurately tracking mileage
- Keeping your bus clean and tidy

Requirements

- Clean driving record for the past 5 years
- Background check
- TB test clearance
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license
- Must have a driver's license for at least the last 5 years

Nice To Haves

- Experience working with and transporting kids is a plus
