Qualifications:
- Knowledge of French language structure, grammar, and instruction methods
- Ability to engage students through speaking, writing, and interactive activities
- Use of varied teaching methods (songs, stories, games, conversation)
Responsibilities:
- Teach French to grades 6–8
- Develop a developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Prepare students for high school-level French (French I readiness by the end of 8th grade)
Core Qualifications
- Experience working with and instructing children
- Understanding of Waldorf pedagogy; willingness to pursue Waldorf Teacher Training if not credentialed
- Knowledge of child development, learning differences, motivation, and assessment practices
- Familiarity with relationship-based and developmental approaches to student behavior
- Ability to implement proactive, preventative student support strategies
- Skills in formative and summative assessment, including adapting instruction to student needs
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with students, families, and colleagues
- Strong decision-making, organization, and resource management skills
- Social awareness, collaboration, and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficiency or willingness to learn key platforms (Google Suite, ParentSquare, Canva, ALMA, NWEA, NH SAS)
- Basic administrative and organizational skills
Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods and navigate uneven terrain safely

- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, Waldorf-aligned curriculum
- Create a balanced program including movement, arts, storytelling, and experiential learning
- Set clear learning objectives and adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Assess, document, and communicate student progress
- Maintain organized classroom environments and prepare materials for instruction
- Support student growth through engaging, hands-on learning experiences
Student Support & Classroom Culture
- Establish clear expectations and foster a positive, relationship-based classroom environment
- Observe and support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Implement proactive behavior strategies and carestream supports when needed
- Promote conflict resolution and seek support when necessary
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain consistent, clear communication with families (including newsletters and timely updates)
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, student support, and school initiatives
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate student records and comply with school and state requirements
- Supervise students in all settings, including outdoor environments and school activities
- Manage classroom materials, budget, and administrative tasks
- Support assistants, volunteers, and school-wide responsibilities
- Engage in ongoing learning and reflective practice
Pay: $12,000.00 - $17,610.00 per year
