What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Heath Tech. - Evaluation & Treatment Facility position at NORTHEAST WASHINGTON ALLIANCE COUNSELING SERVICES?
NEWABH E&T is seeking compassionate and dependable team members to provide direct supervision, observation, and support to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises in our psychiatric inpatient facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients admitted voluntarily or involuntarily. Responsibilities include monitoring patient safety (including suicide and assault precautions), assisting with activities of daily living, supporting emotional stabilization, documenting clinical observations, and collaborating closely with nurses, prescribers, and mental health professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. In addition to direct patient care, this role assists with meal service, light housekeeping, admissions and discharges, and telehealth medication management support. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, attentive to safety, committed to ethical patient relationships, and dedicated to promoting recovery and dignity. This position requires consistent on-site presence at the Alliance E&T facility during assigned shifts and full compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
Qualification
Certification as a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (or ability to obtain upon hire) and American Heart Association CPR certification required. Must maintain a current Washington State Food Handler Permit. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, along with experience working with adults experiencing behavioral health conditions.
Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer proficiency (including clinical documentation systems), and sound judgment with a supportive, professional demeanor. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, acceptable driving record, and ability to pass a criminal background check are required. Applicants must also be eligible to participate in federal healthcare programs and meet all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.
