This role involves reading drawings, setting up molds, installing reinforcement inserts, and ensuring all precast units meet quality, safety, and dimensional standards. The carpenter works closely with production teams to support efficient and accurate precast fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Formwork & Mold Construction
Responsible for constructing, assembling, and maintaining high-quality precast concrete forms and related components. This role involves reading drawings, setting up molds, installing reinforcement inserts, and ensuring all precast units meet quality, safety, and dimensional standards. The carpenter works closely with production teams to support efficient and accurate precast fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Formwork & Mold Construction
- Build and assemble wood precast forms
- Interpret shop drawings to determine form layout and dimensions
- Install chamfers, reveals, block-outs, and architectural features per specifications
- Ensure molds are square and aligned with required tolerances
- Prepare forms for concrete placement, including cleaning, oiling, and installing hardware
- Place lifting devices, embeds, anchor bolts, and reinforcement components as required
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and proper tool handling
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and report any hazards or equipment issues
- Participate in safety training and support continuous improvement initiatives
- 25 years of experience in carpentry, or concrete construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics
- Strong knowledge of formwork, power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
- Role requires being on your feet for extended periods, including frequent standing, bending, and continuous movement throughout the work day
- Understanding basic math, measurements, and construction techniques
- Experience in trim carpentry, tile setting, finish caulking, and rough framing
- Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Attractive hourly rate, $17- $20 /hour, depending on experience paid weekly
