What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biller position at Northeast Pediatric Associates?
The Biller's key responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Keys charge information into entry program and produces billing. Accurately codes information about procedures performed and diagnosis on charge. Processes account adjustments when applicable, including reviewing and resolving edits created by internal billing system and electronic transfer. Processes and distributes copies of billings according to office policies.
- Prepares bank deposits, records deposits, and photocopies checks for entry into billing system.
- Reviews and monitors select accounts within the accounts receivable system, determines and performs appropriate collection actions to resolve account. Follows-up with insurance companies and ensures claims are paid/processed. Resubmits insurance claims that have received no response or are not on file. Works with other staff to follow-up on accounts until zero balance.
- Anticipates potential billing/reimbursement problems and takes measures to prevent them. Assists in correcting errors when they occur.
- Maintains required billing records, reports, files. Ensures pertinent information relating to patient accounts and/or payer interaction is documented in the billing file.
